We were honored to work with the Tabor family in planning and designing two wedding weekends for two of their daughters over a span of three years. Getting to know this family and watching them grow was such a joyful process. Carmel, California is a special place to the Tabor family, and they decided to host a destination wedding in the city that has brought them so many memories. Guests enjoyed coffee strolls along the beach, pickleball tournaments, a rooftop sunset rehearsal dinner, and welcome reception at Clint Eastwood’s bar downtown. The wedding at Mission Ranch was full of so many special touches, and we can’t wait for you to get a peek into their dreamy wedding weekend!
We focused on a color palette of dusty blue, sage and olive greens, buttery yellows and mustard to bring the outdoors in. Emily & Jack’s wedding evoked such a feeling of spring. The custom stationery suite showcased illustrations drawn by the godmother of the bride (who’s daughter’s wedding we also have the honor of planning in Boulder, Colorado this coming September)!
Welcome bags showcased local goods – chocolates from the Cottage of Sweets in Carmel – as well as custom baseball caps, and custom playing cards (a long-loved pastime by the family).
Another element we absolutely loved was the couple’s seating chart display – featuring a polaroid image of every single guest at their wedding, complete with calligraphy name and table number. Guests sipped cocktails under the shade of yellow umbrellas while taking in the views of the sheep pasture.
Transforming the space at Mission Ranch was no small feat. We brought in draping to soften up the rustic structure of the ballroom, hung floral-filled chandeliers from the ceiling to make the room more fitting for the intimate group, and made sure to fill the event with soft mood lighting to set the tone.
Guests danced the night away in the party barn, and ended the night with a cocktail party in the lounge where they were accompanied by a piano man who took requests all night long.
